This truck just left today. It has a 3000 series Hillsboro aluminum flatbed with under-body boxes and a Boss 9'2" Poly "V" plow.
This bed has a chamfered style rear end with LED lighting throughout the body.
All Hillsboro aluminum beds feature an extruded aluminum floor which adds alot of strength to the surface you use all the time. This prevents the sagging that is commonly seen between cross members and keeps you bed looking great for years of hard use.
We also installed an LED flasher on top of the cab for some visibility while plowing.
The Boss 9'2" Poly "V" is a plow meant to move alot of snow. This plow has flared wings which really helps throw the snow. The poly surface (which is red in the picture) is slick and helps the snow slide off the plow better. If you are a snow plow operator in Illinois then you are probably antiquated with sticky snow. Poly plows where build for sticky snow and help keep the snow sliding instead of hanging up on your plow. Thanks for checking out the post!
Here is a Reading Classic II that we just finished up. This is a steel body mounted on a 2019 F250 and is painted to match the Ford factory Silver Metallic.
A close up of the paint since it just looks gray in the sun. The metallic puts a nice sparkle to this truck.
Here are couple pictures of the overall truck.
We installed some gas bottle racking in this body so the customer could bring his torch along.
This body has powder coated white interior which really makes the inside of the compartments bright, while providing durably that a mechanic or technician can appreciate.
Here's a close up of the passenger side, rear grab handle and LED Flasher. Grab handles are a simplistic way to make ease of entry to the inside of the bed. This flasher is 1 of 4 with a flasher in each corner of the truck all wired into one factory switch in the cab.
Here is a close up of the rear recessed bumper, backup camera & light, backup sensors, and display in the cab. A recessed bumper makes hooking up trailer's a little easier and also makes changing the receiver hitches more accessible.
The Reading standard tailgate is a slam action gate. We put an aluminum trim piece over the edge on this body so the customer does not have to worry about scratching up the paint as things get slid over.
Just as a note going into the new year, we are stocking extra steel and aluminum service bodies for the end of the year. If you are looking at getting a body before the end of the year give us a call!
We've been on the busy side so I'm a little behind on with blogging. Here is an Adrian Steel lock smith van package. However, the customer wanted his own spin on things so we did some modifications to the base package and I thought I would show it to you!
Driver's side view. The customer wanted us to raise the shelving up so it would be easier for him to work at his bench.
A view of the passenger side of the van.
We also installed rope lighting on the ceiling with an on/off switch located on the bulk head and a data file located between the driver and passenger seats. Rope lighting is a great way to get good lighting, evenly distributed so there aren't so many shadows at a relatively low price tag. We recommend rope lighting to most of our customer's that are working out of their van. Thanks again for looking!
After looking through our blog it looks like we should have some posts on van equipment! Here is a small fleet of vans we just completed. Upon reviewing the options, customer wanted Weatherguard van shelving, bulkheads/partitions, and ladder racks. We installed this equipment on the customers Ford Transit 350s.
A view of the final product installed and ready for work.
Here is a view of the bulkhead/partition. Like most van equipment, there are lots of options with bulkheads/partitions. This one is a steel partition with perforations so the driver can see into the rear cargo area. Some of the other options include, solid steel, aluminum, composite, windows, no door, hinging door, or sliding door or almost any other configuration that you can think up.
The main thing is that you have one in your work van. In a crash, a bulkhead could likely be the only thing between you and a reciprocating saw traveling 50mph.
The customer needed some added security to protect their equipment. We paired these vans with "puck" style maximum security locks. These locks have brackets which are secured to each door. When the doors are shut these brackets are aligned, the "puck" is manually nested over them, and a locking pin goes through the holes in the brackets. This is a great solution to take your van to the next level of security!
When it comes to ladder racks, there are so many options. I'll do some posts later showcasing some of them. However, these racks are basic 3 bar ladder racks. There is nothing fancy about them but they are very functional. They are very safe way to transport your long ladders and equipment at a lower price point!
Thanks again for looking. If it hasn't been said too many times in this post already, there are lots and lot of options when it comes to van equipment! Feel free to give us a call or leave a comment if you have questions. We would love to help you customize your van!
Here is a neat job we finished up. This Reading 132 Cranebody is mounted on an Ford F550 and paired with an Auto Crane.
The driver's side of this body has a flip top lid that provides great storage for smaller parts. We put a recessed bumper on this truck which provides easier access to your hitch.
This body has two large front compartments that are set up for gas tank storage. The compartments are also vented to prevent a buildup of gas should there be a leak. As a note, all Reading bodies come powder coated inside and out. This provides a nice, clean, and durable finish were you store your tools.
Thanks for looking! Feel free to give us a call and we will be glad to help you get setup for your business!
Here's a unique job that we finished a week or so ago! The customer wanted a hoist installed on his military style truck. We haven't installed many hoists on military trucks so this was a fun truck to work on!
Here are a few closeups of the attachment points for the hinge and the hoist. We also utilized an apitong wood shim which the bed locates on in down position.
This truck has a 24 volt electrical system which we utilized for a electric/hydraulic hoist power unit.
Drop a comment. Thanks for checking us out!
Here is new job that we just finished. This is a 22' Morgan stake side body on a Hino Chassis with a Palfinger 2500 lb tukaway liftgate.
This customer needed a good way to keep things tied down we we paired this truck with cargo ratchet straps which are able to slide up and down along the bed rail.
This bed has a Apitong hardwood floor attached at every cross member with floor screws. This type of flooring is very resistant to decay, has the highest strength to weight ratio of any commercially harvested wood, and provides years of abuse!
Here is a picture of the bi-folding platform on the tukaway. There are a couple side steps which provide entry with the platform up or down.
We installed a shut off switch in the cab for the liftgate to prevent unwanted usage of the liftgate.
Ready to hit the road!
Here is a package we put together recently. The customer wanted an Reading aluminum service body and a stainless steel ladder rack.
Pafco fabricated the stainless steel ladder rack from 1.5" square tubing using 304 stainless. Paired with ratchet straps, this rack is ready for rugged concrete contractor use.
Another picture of the fully welded rack.
Now that Ford has had an aluminum truck out for while, customers are wanting to pair an aluminum service body with these trucks. With all aluminum and stainless construction, this unit should stay this good looking for years to come!
This job is just getting finished up! The truck is for a school district that needed a way to haul it's band equipment around. This van body is an actual "bandwagon."
The customer requested side skirts to detour rambunctious students from trying to take a shortcut underneath the truck(which happens so they say). Anyway, it really dresses up the body!
Here is a view of the inside of the body. There is "E" track along the sides to tie instruments up and angle iron on the sides which will support a drum transfer plate.
The sun is kind of glaring on this one... but rear frame is stainless and will stay looking nice for a long, long time.
Ready for a tour!
Here is a topper we just finished for a customer. This is an aluminum topper with a ladder rack, a bed slide style tray for storage, LED interior lighting, and aluminum storage shelves in the sides with organizer bins. This unit will definitely be nice to work out of!
A view from the rear with the doors open.
The pull out drawer unit is a Weatherguard PackRat. This drawer unit is built to fill full of tools or supplies and to haul things on top too.
These are the organizer bins. Anyone of these can be remove as simply as lifting one out. The shelves that hold the trays are extruded aluminum for light weight yet strong support.
