Here is a job we recently finished up which bears a lot of resemblance to a flatbed, but has compartments similar to a service body. This makes it a very versatile work truck. Prebuilt into the bed, there are LED work lights in both the bulkhead and rear skirt of the truck. This truck provides two long compartments on each side with side opening storage as well as a top opening tray. We installed a C-Tech drawer unit in the front compartment which provides quality mobile storage. All the compartments feature electric locking with a key fob. A final view of the completed bed.

Here is a flatbed with a few additions that we recently finished up! We added custom built flip down sides per customer request, and made a sign on the back that is tied in with the lights. This flatbed also has a gooseneck hitch for towing. FuelThe fuel was relocated behind the wheel, and the DEF was tucked out of the way behind the bulkhead of the flatbed. LightsThis large construction company needed strobes added for a safe work environment. We also designed a sign for them to fill a gap between the hitch plate and flatbed. It is tied in to the tail lights. Storage/ HaulingWe installed RC underbody toolboxes on this truck for quality storage. Viewed in the bottom left photo, you can also see we installed recessed D-rings for tying down pallets or items on the bed. Not only did we install these in the bulkhead, but there are also six D-rings mounted in the flatbed as well. A final view of the completed truck.
Thanks for checking out the post! Here is a custom service truck we recently finished up. The truck got a flatbed, toolboxes, a custom ladder rack, and strobes. BedThe fuel fill was rerouted to accommodate the flatbed, D-rings installed for tie-down options, mud flaps added to protect the boxes, and a hitch plate with a 2-1/2" receiver welded on for towing capabilities. StorageRC toolboxes are a great option for truck storage. Manufactured in the U.S.A. and becoming well known in the commercial truck industry, their reputation of quality precedes them. The fabricated ladder rack will allow for hauling some larger items, and is a compact option that won't get in the way of the flatbed use. SafetyAn arrow light bar and LED strobes were added for safety on the worksite. The picture in the lower right is a remote which controls the arrow bar, while the LED strobes are controlled by an aux switch in the truck.
Thanks for checking out the post! Here's a aluminum diamond plate Zimmerman flatbed we installed. These flatbeds have built in toolboxes efficiently making it a single unit. This bed also has short side rails to aid in keeping pallets or other items from sliding around. All aluminum Zimmerman flatbeds have built in 2 1/2" rear receiver hitches and gooseneck, turnover ball hitches. This particular bed has stop/ turn/ backup lights in the rear header for added visibility.
Thanks for checking out the post! Here is a short post on a Hillsboro 2000 Series aluminum flat bed. We installed this 9ft bed bed on a Ford F550 with a 84" CA. The 1/8" aluminum underbody boxes were also welded into the bed and add some nice storage space! Here are a few pictures of the rear end showing the LED lights, the rear apron hitch, and the flaps.
We just finished up these custom flat beds. They are mounted on Ford cab-chassis with 84" CA. The beds are 11ft long and have expanded steel mesh, drop down sides. Here is view with one of the sides in the open position. The rear of the bed has a built 2.5" receiver hitch and safety "D" rings for trailer chains. We also installed a 4-corner LED flasher system on this truck and tied them into the factory up-fitter switches. This is a great way to let people know you are driving slow or are stopped along the road, preventing accidents. We installed King Pin hitches in these beds. However, this King Pin hitch can be swapped out for a standard Goose Neck Ball style hitch within a couple mins making it quite versatile. Thanks for checking out the post!
Here's a little different looking setup that we finished up recently. The truck is a Chevy LCF 4500 and we installed a flatbed, hoist, and rear hitch. The bed has an electric/hydraulic hoist. The steel bed also has a wood floor which can help prevent loads from shifting around during transit. Here is a view of the rear end with the hitch and lights. Thanks for looking!
Here is a job we finished up recently. This customer is going to mount some of his large water tanks on the body. The truck really turned out well! This flat bed is custom built with a low profile bulk head. We installed mud flaps on both sides of the rear wheels to cut down on the mud build up. Above the cab we installed a Federal Signal LED Flasher full cab width. This flasher provides many flash patterns and can act as an arrow stick. We fabricated and reinforced into the frame, a 50 ton rear pintle hitch on the back of the chassis. The trailer air brakes and wiring plugs are neatly tucked up underneath the bed above the hitch. Thanks for checking on the post!
Here are some pictures from a several months back that never got on the blog. These flatbeds are both Hillsboro steel flatbeds and both mounted on dual wheel trucks. This Hillsboro bed is the G2 style . The bed has built in rear hitch lights and goose neck ball hitch. Here's a view of one of the front boxes. These front boxes have tapered corners to match the tapered corners on the front of the bed. This gives a finished look to overall flatbed. A view of the gooseneck ball hitches in the beds. These hitches are built and welded into the frame of the bed. The design creates a very sturdy and safe hitch location! Thanks for checking out the post!
Here is a Ram chassis that we just installed a 9ft Hillsboro flatbed on. The rounded design of this bed pairs really nice with the truck's curves and makes it looks like it belongs. A view of the side/rear. We mounted flaps on both sides of the rear wheels to stop debris. All the lights on this bed are LED. They really stand out at dusk/night and also give some added visibility when stopping. The top bulk head is also notched out to allow the Ram factory high mount stop light to be visible. Chamfered corners are an option to give the back a more rounded rear. Besides giving the bed a little more "curb appeal" the chamfered corners also give a little more clearance when turning with a goose-neck trailer connected. This view in the rear shows the backup camera we installed between the licence plate and the center rear light cluster. The camera sits below and behind the aluminum rail extrusion and behind the aluminum diamond plate. This gives the camera some added protection. Thanks again for looking! We have quite a few in-stock of flatbeds ready to go or be installed. Feel free to give us a call!
